During The Overlap watchalong, he commented: “He must be the most infuriating person in football, the set-piece coach at Arsenal.

“He has to be, right? He really has to be, correct?”

Arsenal legend Ian Wright chuckled: “Of course, nobody appreciates someone who’s bad at their job.”

Carragher added later on: “Honestly, give him what he asks for.

“If you were that set-piece coach for Arsenal, you could dictate your own pay, couldn’t you? They wouldn’t dare let him go.

“If he said, ‘I want 25 grand a week,’ you’d have to oblige, wouldn’t you?”

Headed goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba propelled Arsenal to victory with three points.

Manchester United manager Amorim lamented the goals conceded, stating: “The set pieces shifted the game. We should’ve been more assertive towards the Arsenal box. Up until the set pieces, there weren’t many chances on either side; those corners changed everything.”

Since the start of last season, Arsenal has scored 22 goals from corners, more than any other team in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Arsenal are both seven points behind league leaders Liverpool, who drew 3-3 with Newcastle.

Meanwhile, United sits in 11th place after losing their first match under new manager Ruben Amorim.
