RAFAEL VAN DER VAART humorously shared his thoughts on why Cristiano Ronaldo is the most dedicated player he’s ever encountered.

Van der Vaart, now 41, and Ronaldo, 39, were teammates at Real Madrid for just a year before Van der Vaart transferred to Tottenham in 2010.

Despite their brief time together, the Manchester United icon made a lasting impression on the former Netherlands international with his relentless dedication.

Ronaldo’s fierce commitment has brought him five Ballon d’Or awards and five Champions League titles over his impressive 22-year career, which continues as he now plays for Al-Nassr.

Van der Vaart noted that the star forward was often found training rather than in the dressing room.

He humorously stated that he rarely saw Ronaldo in the changing area.

Van der Vaart recounted on talkSPORT’s ‘The LineUp: “He barely left his house!”

“As a joke, I say Ronaldo is the only player I never saw naked!”

“He was always the first to show up on the training pitch and the last to leave.”

“Not only that, but his physique was incredible! He was ahead of the curve, though now players match that standard.”

“His commitment to gym training, nutrition, and recovery was paramount—far more crucial than just working out harder.”

“Ronaldo was incredibly self-centered; even if we won 6-0, he was unhappy unless he scored. Conversely, if he scored twice in a loss, he’d be content!”
