HIGH COURT JUDGE (7.30 Wolverhampton, nap)
This horse has strong potential as he aims to complete a four-timer. Trainer James Owen is swiftly earning a reputation with standout hurdlers such as East India Dock while also performing remarkably on the all-weather circuit. This five-year-old initiated his current winning streak here last month and quickly added victories at Southwell and Lingfield with ease. He thrives at this 1m4f distance and with a rating of 61, he can continue to excel in lower-level handicaps.
PRINCE CLENI (1.40 Southwell, nb)
This horse won convincingly over course and distance on New Year’s Day. He then performed admirably at Doncaster last time, finishing just a neck behind. An early mistake set him back, but he finished strongly as Christian Williams’ chaser charged home. The handicapper has been lenient with only a 1lb increase, allowing him a strong chance to win again.
PATROL (6.00 Wolverhampton, nb)
This horse seldom makes mistakes on the all-weather, boasting three places and a win from four outings this season. He came close last time and will benefit from a slight drop in grade.
KALIUM (3.30 Carlisle, Lucky 15)
He earned his second hurdle victory from three attempts with an easy win at Fontwell on Boxing Day. Keeping it straightforward at the front, he consistently delivered under pressure. Tim Vaughan’s charge possesses plenty of speed, and with an opening mark of 121, the handicapper has treated him fairly, enabling him to progress here.
