KING OF SPEED (5.00 Kempton, nap)
Trainer Mark Loughnane is performing exceptionally well, and this six-year-old was slightly unfortunate at Wolverhampton last time. He was making a move but got badly impeded entering the final furlong, and ultimately finished three lengths behind. Despite this, it was still a solid effort, and he moves into apprentice racing now with a competent 3lb claimer on board. This brings down his weight nicely, and he should be a strong contender over this suitable distance.
LET’S GO JOE (3.35 Sedgefield, nb)
He was impressive in his win at Doncaster two races back, which was the last time he handled this distance. He did not manage to stay the three-mile stretch when finishing midfield at Wetherby last outing. However, with the shorter distance today, he should return to form from a reasonable 5lb higher than his latest win.
THE QUESTIONER (2.05 Sedgefield, treble)
A costly mistake late in the race saw him finish third at Wetherby 13 days ago, but the better ground today should work in his favor. He is certainly capable of winning from this position.
ROCCOS INSPIRATION (3.05 Sedgefield, Lucky 15)
This horse looks promising for the Lucky 15. He has been dropping down the weights, and trainer Olly Murphy is using a skilled 7lb claimer here. There’s a great opportunity for her to regain last season’s form, which exceeded this level.
