Banyana Set for Showdown with Ghana

Banyana Banyana midfielder Noxolo Cesane has expressed the team’s readiness for their pivotal opening match against Ghana this Monday at Honneur Stadium.

Despite her confidence, Cesane highlights that their main priority is to deliver an outstanding performance on match day.

Group C Challenge: Facing Ghana, Mali, Tanzania

Banyana Banyana is positioned in Group C of the tournament, facing strong competitors like Mali, Tanzania, and Ghana. The excitement for this event is palpable, especially after the new trophy was revealed earlier this week in Rabat.

“From my perspective, I can see that the players are more concentrated on what we need to accomplish on the day of the Ghana match, and that’s what we’re really focusing on,” said Cesane.

“I can assure you that I’m aligned with the rest of the players; we’re not worried about the other teams, but rather focused on our performance that day, as we need to ensure we execute our training.”

She continued, “This means a lot, but our focus is on recent performances. We aim to maintain the same energy because sometimes minimal changes can drive us forward; retaining the positives is key to our improvement and success.”

Consistency and Self-Improvement: The Message from Cesane

Cesane underlined the necessity of sustaining their winning mindset while building upon their previous achievements.

“Teams evolve every day, every month, and every season, making it tough. We need to concentrate on improving ourselves rather than focusing on others, and we must strive diligently to reach our goals,” said Cesane.

“So far, we’re doing well, though we encounter frustrations like mistakes on the field; these need fixing, and it’s challenging, but we’re putting in the effort,” Cesane added.
