His victory at the Kolon Korea Open secured him a spot at Royal Portrush.

He made the most of the opportunity with an opening round of 68, placing him at -3.

Kaewkanjana shared, “Being a monk enhances my concentration, both on and off the golf course.

“It has sharpened my focus. I let go of everything else and simply live in the moment, centering my mind.

“I truly enjoy my life as a monk.”

His calm demeanor was challenged by difficult conditions at The Open on Thursday.

Remarkably, he outperformed several big names in the sport, including Jon Rahm (-1), Xander Schauffele (E), and Bryson DeChambeau (+7).
