Ncikazi Warns Not to Underestimate Orbit
Orlando Pirates’ assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has stated firmly that the team will not underestimate newly promoted Orbit College in their forthcoming Betway Premiership clash.
The two sides will meet for the first time at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers are riding high after clinching a victory against Mamelodi Sundowns in a penalty shootout on Saturday, securing their place in the MTN8 final.
They are set to compete against Stellenbosch FC in the final on 13 September, likely at Moses Mabhida Stadium, aiming to maintain their momentum following their recent league win over Stellies.
“The significance of such matches lies in analyzing the opponent—identifying their strengths and weaknesses—while setting aside their name,” Ncikazi remarked, stressing the importance of respecting their rivals.

“The risk in such encounters is to assume we won’t encounter challenges.”
Ncikazi emphasized that Orbit College fields a team seasoned in competition. “This is a highly experienced squad,” he mentioned, singling out players such as Letsie Koapeng, Tshepo Matsemela, and goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane, who is a Lesotho international.
“Considering their players’ caliber, it’s a very experienced team. We must assert ourselves and secure three points at home.”
Team News and Player Updates
In other news, Monnapule Saleng will be unavailable for the match against Pirates due to a clause in his loan contract. The winger, who previously contributed to the club’s MTN8 successes, was loaned out after his situation with the club became untenable.
On the injury front, Deano van Rooyen remains uncertain for the match. He was sidelined during the cup fixture against Sundowns on Saturday due to an injury sustained in the last league encounter with Stellenbosch.
However, the team has been bolstered by the return of defender Olisa Ndah, who is back in training. His partner in defense and team captain, Nkosinathi Sibisi, is still recovering from a prior injury.
