In addition to the disappointment of the match loss, Richards faced personal grief following the passing of his father, Lincoln.
On Wednesday night, after finishing the BBC coverage, Richards shared a touching tribute to his father via Instagram.
He shared a nostalgic photo from his childhood with his father and wrote: “Before going on air today, I received the heartbreaking news that my father Lincoln had passed away.

“He would take me wherever I needed when I was young and was the proudest parent during my professional journey.
“It was rare for him not to be at my side.
