Premier League Club Provides Update on £150m Stadium Revamp: Demolition Completed and Three New Sections Under Construction

LEEDS has shared an update regarding their £150million stadium redevelopment project.

The Yorkshire team commenced renovations on their iconic ground earlier this summer, aiming to expand its capacity to 53,000 by 2030.

Daniel Farke’s squad, which received planning approval for this ambitious initiative in January, has committed to keeping fans informed with regular updates.

The redevelopment began with the demolition of the West Stand Banqueting Suite.

Fans who utilized the hospitality area will now be accommodated in a new facility built behind Elland Road’s North Stand throughout the construction period.

The former structure housing the club’s in-house TV channel and ticket office has also been taken down.

Leeds intends to build its new West Stand directly above the existing structure, with no change to their home’s capacity of 37,645 for the upcoming season.

A new corridor has been created to ensure fans can safely enter the stadium during the construction process.

The update on the club’s website states: “This new corridor will facilitate the safe access of supporters to their seats in the West Stand on matchdays and will be divided into three sections – one for hospitality guests, one for general admission home fans, and one for away supporters.”

This redevelopment is set to elevate Elland Road to the seventh largest ground in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s Old Trafford remains the largest stadium with a capacity of 75,653, as the Red Devils press ahead with plans for a new 100,000-seater arena.

Next in line is Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 62,850, followed by London Stadium (62,500), Anfield (61,276), the Emirates (60,704), and the Etihad (55,097).

Leeds currently has over 32,000 supporters on their season ticket waiting list.

In addition to expanding the stadium’s capacity, the redevelopment aims to elevate Elland Road to a UEFA Category 4 stadium, enabling it to host major international tournaments.
