Sekhukhune Signs Pirates Defender for Extended Loan Agreement
Sekhukhune United has re-signed right-back Tshepo Mashiloane on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates.
Originally, the 24-year-old defender joined Orlando Pirates from Baroka FC at the start of the 2025/26 season but faced challenges in securing playing time under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. After just two appearances for the Buccaneers, Mashiloane moved to Babina Noko on a deadline-day loan to rejuvenate his career.
That decision proved beneficial. Mashiloane became a key player in Limpopo, making 19 appearances in total and contributing two goals and two assists from the defensive position.
Kaze Ensures Stability for the 2026/27 Season
His impressive performances led newly appointed head coach Cedric Kaze to keep Mashiloane for the upcoming 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
Mashiloane’s loan extension enhances the team’s defensive resources, joining Nyiko Mobbie, who arrives from Siwelele FC.
Sekhukhune United expressed their enthusiasm about the defender’s return in an official statement:

“Sekhukhune United Football Club is thrilled to confirm the extension of defender Tshepo Mashiloane’s loan from Orlando Pirates.
“The 24-year-old is returning to Babina Noko after an outstanding 2025/26 season, where he recorded 17 appearances across all competitions, netting two goals and providing two assists from defence. His displayed quality and commitment during his previous tenure at the club reinforce the squad’s depth heading into the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.”
“We are excited to welcome Tshepo back to the Babina Noko Family.”
Babina Noko will kick off their Betway Premiership journey on 1 August, hosting Durban City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
