Beau Greaves Acknowledges Vulnerability After World Darts Championship Experience: ‘I’m Not Unbeatable’

BEAU GREAVES acknowledged that she still feels “vulnerable” to defeats, even after successfully securing her place in the quarter-finals of the WDF World Darts Championship.

The 20-year-old has claimed the women’s title for the past two years, solidifying her status as the top player in the world.

On Tuesday, she secured her place in the last eight with a 2-0 victory against Finland’s Kirsi Viinikainen.

Although her advancement to the next round was relatively smooth, Viinikainen posed a challenge in the second set, coming close to a nine-darter with her seven darts.

Last month, Greaves participated as one of two women in the Grand Slam of Darts.

She achieved a 5-1 win over Cameron Menzies but faced losses against Danny Noppert and Martin Schindler.

Even with her dominant performance in women’s events, she maintains that she is not invincible.

She stated: “Obviously, I played the Grand Slam, and I managed to win a game.

“I performed decently, but most female players know my capabilities; that doesn’t mean I’m unbeatable. I experience losses frequently on the women’s series.

“I do lose matches, and that makes me somewhat vulnerable.”

“That can happen at any moment; you never know when players like Kirsi can deliver performances that surprise you.”

Greaves expressed dissatisfaction with her own game but recognized that winning was the most important aspect.

She added: “I mean, I won, and that’s what matters, but I didn’t perform at my best. My darts were falling short and so on.

“It’s frustrating to come back here and try to defend my title, and facing Kirsi was such a tough first match.

“However, I’m just relieved she missed a few doubles, and I’m glad to walk away as the winner.”
