Russia’s Karen Khachanov has been somewhat overlooked at Wimbledon this year, with Court No2 being the largest venue he has competed in thus far.

The No17 seed has put in significant effort to advance through the rounds, and he’s made an excellent start today.

At 6ft 6in, Khachanov has powerfully seized the lead.

Karen Khachanov is set to serve for the first set against Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak on Court No2, leading 5-4.

Meanwhile, Cruz Hewitt, son of former champion Lleyton, is ahead 6-1 2-2 against Savva Rybkin on Court 9.

British junior Oliver Bonding is also leading by the same score against No8 seed Jack Kennedy on Court 18.

Raducanu a smash hit

Over five million viewers tuned in to watch Emma Raducanu’s thrilling Wimbledon clash against Aryna Sabalenka on Friday night.

This match, aired at a prime time slot on BBC One, achieved the BBC’s third-highest ratings for any non-final match in the last three years and the highest of this tournament thus far.

The gripping encounter, where world No1 Sabalenka narrowly defeated British favorite Raducanu 7-6 6-4, peaked at an audience of 5.32 million.

Raducanu’s outstanding third-round performance also garnered over 1.2 million streaming requests on BBC iPlayer.

The most-watched non-final match at Wimbledon in the past four years was Raducanu’s fourth-round duel with Lulu Sun last year, peaking at 5.47 million viewers.

In second place was Andy Murray’s match against John Isner in 2022, which peaked at 5.34 million.
