Soweto Derby Set to Shine in 2026

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has revealed the draft fixtures for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership, with the eagerly awaited Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates set to occur in 2026.

As these fixtures are still in draft form and subject to change before the official announcement, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the two Soweto rivals have had their derby scheduled for the subsequent year; last season’s encounters also took place in 2025.

The initial leg of the derby is slated for 28 February 2026, at the FNB Stadium, while the return leg is arranged for 25 April at the same venue.

The pressure is on for both teams, as Amakhosi aims to reclaim their pride against their longtime adversaries.

In the previous season, Chiefs fell short in both league matches against Pirates, allowing six crucial points to slip away.
