After Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on the last day of the previous season, it was announced that Lindelof, along with Johnny Evans and Christian Eriksen, would depart the club as their contracts concluded.
In his “Farewell Interview,” he stated: “It has been an honour, a privilege, and a dream come true to play for this club for eight years.
“I want to extend my gratitude to our fans who have supported us through everything. Whenever I took to the pitch, I gave my all. I hope the fans recognized my commitment as well.
“Wearing this badge has filled me with immense pride. I wish nothing but the best for everyone at Manchester United.”
A potential transfer to Florence would see him reunite with former United goalkeeper David De Gea, who is now playing his second season with the Italians.
Lindelof and De Gea were teammates at United from 2017 to 2023, after which De Gea left the club due to contract negotiations falling through.
