Newcastle Targets Jorgen Strand Larsen as Premier League Clubs Hesitate Over Dusan Vlahovic’s Salary Expectations

JUVENTUS forward Dusan Vlahovic will not be stepping in for Alexander Isak at Newcastle this summer.

Vlahovic, 25, has been speculated for a Premier League transfer since 2022 when he made headlines with Fiorentina before choosing Juventus.

The striker is currently being considered as a possible alternative for Isak, 25, due to his ongoing transfer standoff with the club and Liverpool’s interest.

The Bianconeri have made Vlahovic available to Newcastle and are open to offers around £26million, looking to alleviate their wage burden after signing Jonathan David.

However, SunSport has learned that Vlahovic is not expected to leave Turin this summer.

This is mainly because Newcastle favors Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen, despite their £50m bid being rejected.

Additionally, no other clubs appear willing to match Vlahovic’s current wages at Juventus.

The Serbian forward earns a net salary of £10.4m annually with the Serie A team.

This comes after Vlahovic scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 44 appearances for Juventus last season.

The centre-forward kicked off this season well, netting a goal in his first Serie A match against Parma, contributing to a 2-0 victory for Igor Tudor’s side on Sunday.

Newcastle is still working to secure at least one striker before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, as Isak’s situation remains uncertain.

Regardless of whether the Sweden international stays at St James’ Park, manager Eddie Howe is keen to bring in another centre-forward after Callum Wilson’s departure earlier this summer.

Alexander Isak is the biggest name in Newcastle, but his strike could signal challenges for the team.

Newcastle is preparing a second offer for Strand Larsen; however, Wolves refuse to entertain any deals for him and have indicated he is not available at any price.

The Geordies are also eyeing a transfer for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, but manager Keith Andrews believes he will remain with the team.
