Erasmus Awarded South Africa’s Prestigious National Honor for World Cup Legacy
SA Rugby President Mark Alexander has offered heartfelt congratulations to Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus, who was honored with the esteemed National Order of Ikhamanga in Gold by the Presidency on Tuesday.
The National Order of Ikhamanga recognizes exceptional South Africans who have achieved excellence in various fields including arts, culture, literature, music, journalism, and sport.
As stated by the Presidency, Erasmus was nominated for this award due to his “inspirational leadership in national and international rugby that has driven the Springboks to multiple Rugby World Cup victories.”
“Success on the field has fostered social cohesion among South Africans and enhanced the nation’s reputation within the global community,” the Presidency remarked.
